Building Empowered Communities from Within
Advocacy and counselling are at the heart of sustainable community
development. An effective advocacy orientation involves not only systems change but also the implementation of empowerment strategies through direct counselling among target populations. At Matrix Society, we believe that empowered communities are the most effective drivers of lasting change.
In our community programs, counsellors work alongside communities to identify and address systemic barriers. The community is treated as the leader and expert — our team serves as an ally, contributing interpersonal skills, group facilitation, communications support, and research capacity. We implement programs that help target populations identify barriers, evaluate approaches, and take collective action.
Our community-facing programs are implemented with support from government bodies, WCD Delhi, and various CSR partners — covering issues ranging from gender-based discrimination and legal rights awareness to road safety and pollution control across Delhi, Haryana, and other program states.

Our Key Interventions
Gender Resource Centres (GRC)
One-stop centres providing social, economic, and legal empowerment support to underprivileged women in Delhi — run with support from WCD Delhi, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
Mahila Panchayat
Community-level forums organized to empower women about their legal rights, social entitlements, and grievance redressal mechanisms at the grassroots
Legal Awareness Campaigns
Regular awareness drives on women’s rights, child rights, domestic violence laws (PWDVA), and legal aid access across program communities
Community Counselling
Direct counselling services provided to individuals and families facing social, economic, and legal challenges in our program areas across Delhi and Haryana.
Advocacy Campaigns
Targeted campaigns on gender discrimination, road safety, traffic awareness, pollution, and other community issues carried out at regular intervals.
Stakeholder Engagement
Regular dialogue with policy makers, government departments, and institutions to promote equitable and participatory program implementation.
Capacity Building of CBOs
Strengthening community based organisations and NGOs at the grassroots level to improve their advocacy, counselling, and mobilisation capabilities.

Gender Resource Centre (GRC)
- Delhi
Delhi Details: Matrix Society operated Gender Resource Centres in Delhi in partnership with the Department of Women and Child Development (WCD), Govt. of NCT of Delhi. The centres provided legal aid, counselling, and social empowerment support to underprivileged women from marginalised communities — serving as a one-stop resource hub for women seeking help with legal matters, livelihood guidance, and social entitlements.

Mahila Panchayat Program
- Delhi
Delhi (2019–2021) Details: An initiative of
WCD Delhi, Mahila Panchayats were organized to empower women at the community level about their legal and social rights. Matrix Society ran Mahila Panchayat Centres across Delhi from 2019 to 2021 — providing a platform for women to raise grievances, access legal information, and connect with government schemes and entitlements.

Advocacy & Awareness Campaigns
- Pan-India
Pan-India Details: Matrix Society has conducted multiple advocacy campaigns and community interventions targeting issues including gender discrimination, road safety and traffic awareness, pollution control, and women empowerment — carried out at regular intervals across program areas in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. Campaigns use a mix of street plays, community meetings, IEC materials, and digital outreach.

Counselling & Legal Support

Program Communities Details: Ongoing
counselling services are provided to women, youth, and families in our program areas
across Delhi and Haryana, addressing issues of domestic violence, social exclusion, child
rights, and access to government schemes. Our trained counsellors conduct regular
sessions at community centres, SHG meetings, and GRC facilities.
